When we first moved to The ‘Burgh I was frantic and very concerned my Texas winter wardrobe would be insufficient. It totally was.
CJ totally supported, maybe tolerated is more appropriate, my manic craze to stock pile all the cozy sweaters my heart desired.
Admittedly I bought more than I needed, especially considering the fact I quickly developed favorites, which became more frequent on the wardrobe rotation than others. #sorrynotsorry
However, it wasn’t until after Christmas I was able to locate my unicorn. You know, that mythical perfect creature, in this case, taking on the form of an oversized men’s sweater. I browsed multiple thrift stores, I wanted one truly broken in, and came up disappointed every. single. time.
I went to Urban Outfitters after the holidays, gift card in tow, on a mission to buy pretty boho things. As fate would have it, there on the sale racks, hung a beautiful, neutral tone sweater. To get the oversized affect I was after, I bought the sweater one size larger than usual and it was a “happy dance, praise Jesus, Hallelujah” moment in the dressing room.
I might have squealed.
Whether or not the sweater is men’s or women’s I had no idea. It hung in limbo between the clearly defined men’s and women’s items. Luckily for me I love androgynous fashion and it doesn’t matter.
Back to all the sweaters I just had to have before winter hit…this sweater, once in my possession made all the others moot. I will choose this sweater time and time again over all the others. And even though spring is here it is still pretty chilly here on the east coast. Today was in the 30’s but the sun was out so I don’t mind one bit.
What’s your favorite piece of clothing that trumps all the others?
Do something fun today, hippies! xoxo
