Happy Thanksgiving week, y’all!
‘Tis the season for all things pumpkin flavored! I love this time of year: lots of pumpkin everything, cozy knits & being around my big, crazy family! Holidays mean baking, experimenting with tasty concoctions and enjoying the company of those you love. Since the hubs and I are far from home (Texas, we miss you!), I decided to bake some tasty treats I enjoy for my new neighbors. After all, the holidays are about spreading joy.
On the menu? Pumpkin Spice Macarons. I heart macarons. I love them. LOVE. I mean, really love. They are delicious, delicate and dainty. I have to admit I expected them to be a pain in the arse to make, but this recipe made it surprisingly easy.
I channeled my mama by cranking some tunes & whippin’ up some masterfully delicious macarons. In all fairness, I could have let them bake one extra minute, the shells were super delicate and I added powdered sugar, vanilla extract and nutmeg to the cream filling. BUT, they were super delicious. The hubs & I took a little walk to deliver our homemade treats to our neighbors. If we weren’t everyone’s favorite Texans before, we sure as heck are now! Now that I kn
ow macarons are more about patience then complexity I will definitely be trying more flavors.
Remember your blessings, hippies.
